Ich möchte an dieser Stelle wie gestern schon auf eine englische Predigtreihe verweisen, diese hier wurde von Donald A. Carson gehalten unter dem Titel „The God Who Is There“ (zu deutsch: „Der Gott, Der Da Ist“). Dabei geht Carson in 14 Teilen nach und nach durch die ganze Schrift und legt dabei im Grunde 14 zentrale Lehren des christlichen Glaubens aus. Das Ganze richtet sich primär an solche, die eher frisch im Glauben sind oder nicht gläubig sind, ich denke aber, dass man auch als langjähriger Gläubiger viel von dieser Predigtreihe haben kann, denn so selbstverständlich ist das alles meines Erachtens nicht. Bedingung sind auch hier Zeit, Geduld und Interesse.

Etwas, was allgemein für den Glauben gilt: Es gibt keinen Instant-Tiefgang, es braucht einfach Zeit, Mühe und Disziplin um in diesen Dingen zu wachsen. Jeder der meint, er könne ohne Theologie, ohne tiefere Auseinandersetzung mit der Botschaft der Bibel den christlichen Glauben leben, könne einfach so ohne weiteres Jesus nachfolgen, der irrt. Denn wie will man Christus nachfolgen, wenn man keinen Schimmer davon hat, was die christliche Botschaft essentiell ist?

Und wenn ich mich so umschaue, habe ich nicht den Eindruck, dass viele grundlegenden christlichen Lehren nahezu selbstverständlich geglaubt werden. Deswegen gibt es auch diesen Blog hier. Wie vielleicht auch aufgefallen ist, meide ich auch eschatologische Spekulationen und christliche Verschwörungstheorien, wie man sie z.B. massenhaft auf youtube finden mag oder typische Streitthemen, zu denen ich sicherlich oft auch so meine Position habe, wobei ich die beiden erst genannten am wenigsten leiden kann, weil ich denke, dass sie massiv in die Irre führen können. Nur, dass das auch einmal gesagt ist…

Zu Erwähnen wäre noch, dass es ein Buch selben Titels gibt, das denselben Aufbau wie die Vortragsreihe hat. Wäre durchaus ein Buch, das man meines Erachtens ins Deutsche übersetzen könnte/ sollte.
